Many of us are currently staying home, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, but apparently, we’re running out of things to do. Now if you’re not used to the homebody life, we’ve made a list of fun things you can do while you’re in quarantine.

Workout

Remember all of the times you said you’d start working out but never did? Now is your time. You don’t need to have the equipment to make this happen, anything around the house can double as a dumbbell, and there’s nothing like starting off with your body weight. There are so many apps you can download that will help you start off. Push yourself! Come out of quarantine a new person (be sure to balance off with a healthy diet of course). Get your fitness on!

Self-Care

Taking care of your body in other ways is important too. Feed yourself healthy fruits and veggies, drink tons of water, and for the love of all things worthy, put on an SPF. If you’re going to watch TV, put on a facemask. Cut your cuticles, polish your nails, buff your feet, floss your teeth, moisturize your whole life! Get cute even if you’re home. Most importantly, give your mind, soul, and spirit time to rest and refocus on what truly matters. Whether that be through prayer, meditation, or something else, you deserve it to yourself. Stop putting that on the back burner.

Have a Party!

Did you miss DJ D-Nice’s IG live? No worries, have your own! Tell your friends and followers to jump on with you, play that funky music, and dance the night away. These days, you can reach out to anyone through Instagram, Facebook, and even Zoom. Who says you can’t have a dance party?

Pick up that Book

You know that book is collecting dust, so pick it up and feed your mind. Studies show that reading a book boosts stimulation, relieves stress, expands your vocabulary and memory, and improves your focus and concentration. Read alone, to your family, or live on social media! There are so many books out there that can take you to another place. So run away, even if it’s for just an hour.

Be a Homemaker

Let’s make one thing clear, you can be a man and be a homemaker. So grab your family, and try that recipe from your favorite chef. Organize that cabinet that doesn’t close (you know which one). Start pulling out the weeds from your garden. Just take the time to do things around the house you always say you’re going to get to. Your job isn’t stopping you right now.

Start your Craft

Everyone has something they’re good at. Maybe it’s painting, writing, designing, or photography. Whatever it is, now is the time to start. That hobby that you had to let go because of work or family? Start it. That dream you had but never had the time to accomplish it? Conquer it. Now is the time to hone in your craft and own it!

Be a Kid Again

Since when did we forget to live a little? Build a fort, have a science experiment or play a board game! Get rid of the embarrassment. Create a TikTok if that’s what you want, but feel free and be young again! Laughing is good for you!

Embrace your Family

Our day to day lives can really take a toll on us and do a number on our family, so take this time to connect with them, even if it’s through Zoom. If you’ve had the longest misunderstanding with them, then talk about it. If you’ve been too afraid to confess something, now is the time. If you just want to tell them what they mean to you, say it loud and proud. There is nothing worse than not being able to connect with the ones you love. Blood is thick, so laugh, shout, yell, and cry if you need to, but get it off your chest. Family is forever.

Or Do Nothing

If you don’t feel like doing anything, then do absolutely nothing. Take this time to rest or sleep. Take this time to just breathe. If you want to lay in bed all day, don’t feel bad about it. Chances are you don’t get to rest as much because of our demanding schedules, so take it easy. No judgment whatsoever on what you choose to do with your time.
